Montana Private Investigator Requirements

In the state of Montana there are two types of licenses. The first is a Private Investigator License which is the equivalent of an Agency License. The other License is for a Private Investigator Trainee.

A. Application Fee: ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE $250.00

B. Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent

C. Experience Requirements: 3 years.

D. Examination Information: $20 Examination Fee

E. Renewal Period

F. Renewal Fee

G. Other Special License Requirements:
Must maintain a minimum of $500,000.00 occurrence form of commercial general liability which includes personal injury and errors and omissions coverage.
$50 Armed Endorsement
